Kirstin Kimmel of Annapolis graduated this May with a master of arts in Christian counseling and discipleship from Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham. She plans to pursue professional licensure while continuing to gain practical experience.

Nicole M. Bridgland, daughter of Dr. Michael and Donna Bridgland of Millersville, has been named to the Grinnell College spring dean's list.

Samford University has named Evelyn Christina Stagnaro of Annapolis to the spring dean's list.

* * *

Bjoern H. Weidlich of Grasonville has been named to second honors on the Clark University spring dean's list. The Key School graduate is an economics major.

Kevin Patrick Rausch, son of Michael and Mary Rausch of Annapolis, has recently graduated cum laude from Towson University with a bachelor of science degree in music education. He is a 2003 graduate of St. Mary's High School.

Will Ewing of Crofton won national recognition in the 2008 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards National Ceremony held at Carnegie Hall in New York. The contest is held by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers.

An eighth-grade student at St. Andrew's United Methodist Day School in Edgewater, he created a detailed contour self-portrait with descriptive words, and he placed in the top 1 percent of 100,000 works that were initially submitted to the contest from all over the country.

SkillsUSA awarded the following area students as national winners in the 2009 Championship at the National Leadership and Skills Conference:

Trevor Siegert of Mayo, and a student at Center of Applied Technology South, was awarded the high school bronze medal in technical computer applications and a Skill Point Certificate.

Kevin Steers of Crofton, and a student at Center of Applied Technology South, was awarded a Skill Point Certificate in sheet metal.

Kyle Weissner of Gambrills, and a student at Center of Applied Technology North, was awarded a Skill Point Certificate in automotive refinishing technology.

Christos Pelekanos of Annapolis was named to the spring dean's list at Frostburg State University. He earned a 4.0 grade-point average.

Patrick M. Ott of Odenton was named to the spring Commendable Scholar list at Mitchell College in Connecticut.

Amy Claire Crout, daughter of Randy and Karen Crout of Arnold, received a Presidential Scholarship from Campbell University in North Carolina. The Annapolis Area Christian School graduate was active in student government, the National Honor Society, softball and volleyball.
