ANNAPOLIS (AP) — Unhappy about high gas prices? Maryland politicians from both parties are launching advertising campaigns laying out their energy plans.
In the 1st Congressional District, Republican state Sen. Andy Harris has a new television ad telling voters he wants to promote alternative energy, including wind and solar energy.
Harris has also called for more domestic oil exploration and nuclear power plants, though he does not highlight those avenues in the ad, which is running in Salisbury. Harris faces Democratic Queen Anne's County State's Attorney Frank Kratovil in November.
Democrats are talking energy, too. Gov. Martin O'Malley and 4th District Rep. Donna Edwards are headed to Washington to join national Democrats announcing a new presidential energy campaign.
