| Cars (Dateline did an investigation on Louisiana for a similar thing. Here's a link to the Dateline story, circa 1997: http://www.fear.org/luez-app.html
And, if I'm doing my math right, the county is getting less than $200 for each car towed. Where's the profit? How can the county make any money on this after paying for the tow?? Anyone not guilty should get their car back without any charge and compensation for being without a car during that time, IMHO. -- S. Abbott - Annapolis, MD) |
| Triathlon (First the Volvo Ocean Race and now the Triathlon. Way to go Annapolis! -- S. Abbott - Annapolis, MD) |
| Unbelievable! (I'm not from Annapolis but have been training and looking forward to the race all summer. My family and I were going to travel to Annapolis from Chesapeake, VA to attend my race. I find out that Annapolis pulls the rug under the athletes feet at the last minute, this whole situation has put a bad taste in my mouth about ever attending another "Annapolis" triathlon. You missed out on this family traveling that way for another race. Thanks Williamsburg for offering another race on the same day for people who have been training all summer. -- s Tipton - Chesapeake, VA) |
| Freeman comment (Your "guess" is incredibly ill-informed and ugly. Russell Brown, Northwoods and the reading public deserve better than a swipe like this! Shame on you Mr/Ms Freeman! -- Jack T. - annapolis, MD) |
| Christian Like??? (As I have previously stated I understand the burden that a race like this puts on the community but it strikes me as not very Christian-like - not very friendly, welcoming, accommodating or supporting - and in fact rather selfish of the churches to complain about the race. This country faces an obesity epidemic. Perhaps instead of complaining that these people who are exercising and staying healthy are making it inconvenient for parishioners to get to church they should encourage them to show up early to watch the race and cheer us on and perhaps gain some motivation for living a more healthy lifestyle - if they need to. I believe that the leaders of these churches are near-sighted and missed a great opportunity to help their members. -- dan goodman - baltimore, MD) |
